Random musings on ethics

My mother's best friend has invited her over to her house with a few other friends as she has hired a psychic to do readings for all of them. I'm not really worried about this, but I am wary. The woman calls herself Dragonfly and reads Tarot cards and reads tea leaves. The fact that this psychic charges for her services bothers me. I won't make any assumptions about a woman I've never met, but I have never believed in selling one's services. Magickal gifts are special things and should be shared with others if asked, but I don't think anyone has the right to make money off of people who just treat this like a fad, or a party favor.
I am considering whether or not to tell her about my beliefs. She sees this woman as simply a party favor and doesn't believe in it. She still calls herself a Christian, though she quit going to church (like me, she values the faith, not the religion). I really don't know what she will say. If I were anyone else and didn't know her background, I'd say she would be ok with it, but I would say she wouldn't. She only knows the Church's definition of Witches. We were in a bookstore once and she picked up one of those cutesy pink "magic for the glamorous teenage witch" books and said, "I don't know. This is delving into some dangerous areas." and then put the book away in disgust. She still thinks Witches are connected with the Christian Devil and believes Witchcraft is channeling dark forces and used for "hexing" people.
I am not a confrontational person so I would be terrified to simply sit down and breach the subject, but on teh other hand, I don't want her to find one of my Witchcraft books and freak out (she would naturally tune out and allow the fact that I was hiding something from her to cover up anything I would say).
I know I should just tell her and explain it as simply as possible, but I don't want to hurt her. Her preconceived ideas can be as powerful as the truth that comes from my mouth so she may not listen.

Wow, that was a rambling post. Just some ponderings.

Blessed Be!
